South Wales, particularly Llanelli, has the engineering skills and the the nearby raw materials to manufacture wind turbines. The Germans and the Scandinavians appear to be able to make them but we do not. Perhaps it could be undertaken by a co-operative or a Welsh Government run initiative. I cannot understand why we do not make thousands of them as the whole world need free(ish) energy.
We have the on-shore location, there is a history of wind research and some excellent technologies available e.g.http://newworldwind.com/
We should Be making turbines that can Be used in Wales, for Wales by Wales.
