We need to give all the help we can to our elderly who end up homeless in the twilight of their lives.
Our Elderly population have worked hard throughout their lifetime. Once they reach a vulnerable stage of their lives they need to be taken care of so that they are assured a good quality of life. Their life experience needs to be treasured and shared together with the enthiusiasm and energy of youths.
I agree in principle, but if they had children who abandoned them, then ways have to be found to enforce them to contribute. Come to think of it, children are guaranteed a decent livelihood by their parents and even a secured heritage - why shouldn't they be OBLIGED to take care of their parents in their old age!!
