Tens of thousands of students attend UoM, MCAST and sixth forms, putting a substantial weight on a progressive traffic problem. Students should be given the option to travel for free on public transport. It's cheaper (and greener) to let students onto a bus for free than to build carparks. Subsidizing bus passes aren't enough; students are already paying for the license and insurance of their car so they need to be well enticed to choose the less convenient travel option, i.e. public transport
