It's a pity that traditional Maltese boats (frejgatina/luzzu/kajjikk) used by professional fisherman or for hobby purposes are being fast replaced by fibre mounted boats due to their long term maintenance and expenses. A part of our culture is being destroyed. I encourage our leader Simon Busuttil, that when he takes office he creates a positive incentive to encourage people who already own a registered traditional Maltese wooden boat to keep it and not replace it with a fibreglass one.
