Our university ranks very poorly overall, primarily due to poor allocation of funds. For a fact, most students choose to leave Malta to pursue their post-graduate studies. Research needs to be given desperate priority on the agenda. We need to shift from importing solutions to innovating at home. A strong research backbone will lead to a self sustaining cycle, with which we can plan the near and distant infrastructural/social/economic/etc future of our beautiful Malta.
