a mechanism known as right of recall should be introduced – this would allow constituents who elected an MP to remove him and elect another in his stead – not as happens now which is that once elected an MP is free to do as he wants for the duration of his term with no repercussions.
constituents would have the right to recall and replace an MP if he is working against their interests once elected
Just make sure not to elect him /her next time round by clearly making it known to other voters why he/she does not deserve to be re-elected. If the reason is criminal (eg bribery, graft or some other illegal activity) an efficient police force would address the problem well before the recall process can be triggered and executed. We straight professionals at the head of our democratic institutions.
