Since the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra has consistently been developing and growing it requires an adequate base from where to operate. In this regard a professional base is required which will include a concert hall as well as rehearsal rooms and halls so that the musicians will be able to study and rehearse in a professional environment. This base will also include the administrative offices. Further more investment in administrative human resources is necessary.
A proper concert hall is much needed in Malta. The fact that we do not invest a lot in the cultural sector shows our lack of appreciation for culture particularity for classical music. I also recommend higher wages for musicians since they work very long hours particularly during weekends. This ensures that the orchestra attracts the best musicians. Also, people who have degrees and post graduate degrees or equivalent should be given appropriate remuneration for their qualifications.
