This is a disgrace as most will have heard of the new schemes offered to Airmalta employees and promotions handed willy nilly to the Armed Forces. A new PN government should make it illegal to promise or hand out promotions 3 months before a planned election and, such as this case, immediately a snap election is called.
Unfortunately, this is Malta. I agree we have to totally move away from these costly tactics to gain votes. I very much doubt that all these promotions and retirement schemes would have come in force if an election wasn't in the offing. How can you offer such irresponsible retirement schemes to employees forming part of a Company that has been losing millions each year. with regards to the Armed forces promotions same principle applies - some are backdated by 20 years.
