Our first project is to clean up and beautify the section of the Black Lynn Burn which runs through the centre of Oban between Tesco and Lidl. We intend to encourage passers-by to keep the area free of rubbish, we hope to construct an attractive seating area, to eradicate invasive non-native plants, to introduce a range of both native and ornamental shrubs and trees, and to turn this waterway into both a wildlife corridor and a more attractive town feature for residents and visitors alike.
By beginning the process of beautifying the Black Lynn at what is probably its most frequented spot, we hope that the people of Oban will see what a great asset to the town the burn and its tributaries could be. Many residents use the footpath between Soroba Lane and Lynn Road and this project could be the start of a great improvement to this part of the town.
