Work with the council to freshen up & paint bollards as they are. Or better still, let's consider a bit of uniqueness with sponsors/adopters being able to create something new and vibrant. Perhaps linked to the emerging art project for the town. If done tastefully, it could look pretty cool. More importantly, the project might help to give a bit of local ownership and restore a bit of pride. The examples are in Winchester. Not so easy for us though, our bollards have ridges!
The bollards look a mess. Any option will be better than what is there now. Ideally, I would like to see some form of adoption with sponsorship, perhaps engaging local artists, and providing money to local charities. Sponsor costs could be scaled with seasonal exposure.
