Back To The Future is an intergenerational project which will use digital media to tell a story about changes in Leith over the past generations. Both generations will benefit from an exchange of knowledge and skills. Young people will help older people get more confident about using the internet and social media apps, while older people will help young people discover more about their community. By the end of the project, older and younger participants will have worked together to produce a digital exhibition of words and pictures, which we will share with the community.
Regular, meaningful contact with young people is especially valued by older people who are isolated, lonely or bereaved. Likewise, working with older people can help to build the confidence and skills of young people who have not thrived in a traditional school environment.
