We will engage with 40 unique families (children aged 0 to 12 years) over the summer holiday period and take them on four all-day outings to the beach, country parks, Jupiter Artland and other green spaces. At least 20 families will have children with additional support needs. The activities will focus on the outdoors, physical activity, play, family interactions and healthy eating. The project out comes will be: improved family interactions; reduced social isolation and stress; improved social connections and friendships across cultural ethnic groups; and increased play opportunities for children. 40 parents and 50 children will benefit from the project
Our project will meet the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged BME families who will be affected by some or all of the following issues/needs: social isolation; experiences around migration and refugee status; trauma; language barriers; racism; poverty/housing difficulties, and health issues. 50%of the families will have children with additional support needs.
