Capitalism drives manufacturers to make products, particularly electronics, with shorter lifespans in order to spur more consumption and profit. This "planned obsolescence" not only produces incalculable waste as discarded products end up in landfills instead of being able to be repaired and reused, but it also leaves consumers at the mercy of capitalists to replace or maintain essential devices. We will institute a "Right to Repair" which will allow consumers to repair or modify products.
