Chances are you know a kid that's wanted to be an astronaut when they grow up. As a high schooler still following that dream, I hope to give younger kids a chance to learn more about opportunities in STEM that relate to space exploration and science. To do this, I hope to start "space camps" at local organizations so students can build airplanes, paper rockets, learn about stars and constellations, or meet area leaders doing space research. Let's inspire kids to follow their astronaut dreams!
Love the idea, you should apply! https://www.soupnation.org/apply-1
In the La Crosse community, I feel there is a lack of education in space science and astronomy for kids in elementary school specifically. Forming space camps in La Crosse will give kids a chance to participate in hands-on, "out-of-this-world" learning! Space camps also offer an after school activity for kids who want to meet new friends and have something to during the winter when it's too cold to place outside.
As a former space camper, my heart and head would love to see this happen! As Jacob said, please submit a pitch. If you need help with that, just send us an email and one of us will connect with you.
