Interventions and priority investments identified for implementation by the PIUTD so far attempt to harmonise movement in the historic core of the city with its developmental vision. Upgrading of streets and public spaces; pedestrianizing and adaptive reuse of selected historic buildings, improvements of bike and pedestrian trails and visual improvement of the buffer zone, are expected to benefit all the 36,496 inhabitants of the city and the visitors will also have a much improved experience.
