Especially during the pandemic, a lot of people in rented accommodation are vulnerable and need greater support. The Council should provide it.
Since Lewisham Council transferred the majority of its housing stock over to Housing Associations there has been a lack of clarity over who is responsible for the needs of some of the most vulnerable tenants in our area. As it stands tenants can be passed from one party to the next and back again. This is not a situation that should be allowed to continue.
Agree, better homes. The private landlords are taking advantage on tenants and because you need some where to live and the council has no houses, you end in the craps plus they are so expensive. Roseline RRF
Agree rent cap set by an independent inspector would be helpful. I seem to remember that many years ago there was something like this
