Adding another pedestrian tunnel under the train tracks near Elon University would benefit the students safety.
Many people go to visit their friends on the weekend but do not want to walk the distance to the tunnel on East Lebanon. As a result many people cut across the tracks often not on the road either. They will just hop the fences to get across.
The tunnel already under the tracks is extremely convenient for students to get to the health center or intramural fields. We should have one on the other side, near the Root and West End Bar, so that people can easily access their homes if they live off campus without having to walk in the road, which is dangerous because of cars and the train.
